Digital advertising is the land of acronyms and technical terms. Our glossary can help you make sense of it all with definitions of the most common terminology.

What is First-Party Cookie (1P Cookie)?

A small text file stored on the user’s computer, known as a cookie, is created by the website the user is currently visiting. This file contains information such as preferences or session data to help improve the browsing experience. Cookies are typically stored in the web browser and can be accessed by the same website on future visits. However, if this cookie is accessed by a different website while the user is browsing elsewhere, it is considered a "third-party" use case. Third-party cookies are often used by advertisers or analytics providers to track users across different sites and deliver targeted content or ads.
