What is Viewable Advertising?
Viewable advertising is a metric that determines whether an ad was actually visible to a human viewer, rather than being out of view or delivered due to automated activity. This measurement ensures that advertisers are only paying for ads that have the potential to be seen by real consumers. It also takes into account how long the ad remained visible on the screen during the consumer's browsing session. The industry standard for an ad to be considered "viewable" generally requires at least 50% of the ad’s pixels to be within the browser space for a minimum of 1 second. For video ads, this threshold is typically extended to 2 seconds. By measuring viewability, advertisers can better assess the effectiveness of their campaigns and ensure that their ads are engaging actual users.
