Cost Per Install (CPI) - Definition
Digital advertising is the land of acronyms and technical terms. Our glossary can help you make sense of it all with definitions of the most common terminology.
What is Cost Per Install (CPI)?
The price a marketer pays for each app install is referred to as cost-per-install (CPI). This metric represents the amount an advertiser is charged every time a user successfully installs their mobile application. The CPI is calculated by dividing the total cost of the advertising campaign by the number of installs generated during that campaign. Cost-per-install is a critical measure for mobile app marketers, as it helps them evaluate the efficiency and return on investment of their campaigns, giving insight into how much they are spending to acquire each new user.
