Whitelisting and Blacklisting
Avoid your ads appearing in unwanted places when traded via open marketplaces. Use ASTRAD’s tools to manage your ad placement.
Blacklists: A Business-Critical Component of Digital Advertising
Blacklists protect brands from their ads landing in the wrong places. ASTRAD works with every customer to build generic or campaign-specific blacklists leveraging internal best practices. Blacklists are a significant step of our pre-launch campaign process and our commitment to brand safety.
Benefits of Blacklists
Having blacklists or denylists can help you:
Be Confident
Know your ads are not being shown on sites that could damage your brand reputation.
Save Money
Avoid wasted ad spend on irrelevant or low-quality sites.
Improve Campaign Performance
Focus your ads on high-quality, brand-safe environments.
Whitelists
Your ads only appear on sites and apps that have been added to this list. ASTRAD can work with advertisers to create contextually, and brand-safe whitelists, or advertisers can upload their existing whitelists using domains and app bundles.
Benefits of Whitelists
Having whitelists or allow lists can help you:
Reduce Costs
No need for expensive security solutions since you know exactly where your ads will be placed.
Improve Efficiency
Save time and resources that would otherwise be spent on identifying and blocking malicious traffic.
Target Ads Better
When combined with audience targeting, contextual whitelists can provide a more targeted and relevant environment for targeted advertising.
Private Marketplaces
Private Marketplaces or PMPs are an extension of whitelists. PMPs can be pre-built lists on the exchange side or individually negotiated agreements between the advertiser/DSP and publisher.
When buying via a PMP, a deal ID (reference number) is generated to activate activity, and ads will only appear on sites that have been added to the deal.
